How to Select Die Casting Machine Tonnage

Fullness = total weight / casting volume

The casting volume uses different chambers for different die casting machines.

 Check the tonnage of the primary die-casting machine according to the fullness value, and the fullness is usually between 40% and 75%.

Carry out simple mold positioning for castings and know the mold size.

According to the size of the mold, check whether the inner distance of the column of the selected die casting machine is appropriate.

Determine the tonnage of the die casting machine used

The theoretically calculated clamping force must be less than the nominal clamping force of the die casting machine.

The theoretical calculation pressure chamber capacity should be less than the nominal pressure chamber capacity of the die casting machine.

The theoretically calculated mold opening force and pushing force should be less than the maximum mold opening force and pushing force of the selected die casting machine.

The total thickness of the mold should be greater than the minimum clamping distance of the die casting machine.

The maximum opening distance of die castings should be greater than the sum of the total thickness of the mold and the height of the product.

The template size and hole position of the die installed on the die-casting machine should be the same as the fixed plate size and hole position of the die-casting machine.

The overall dimensions of the mold and the maximum size of the external mechanism extending from the mold body should not collide with the draw rod of the die-casting machine, otherwise, the die-casting machine will operate and use normally.

Determine the clamping force of the die casting machine

The projected area is an important parameter for the selection of die casting parts. The projected area mentioned here is not only the area of the part but also includes the calculation of existing parts and casting areas that should be divided into small regular shapes.
